The pos­i­tion is set within the frame­work of the research pro­ject CoyPu (Cog­nit­ive Eco­nomy Intel­li­gence Platt­form für die Resi­li­enz wirtschaft­licher Ökosysteme), fun­ded by the Fed­eral Min­istry for Eco­nomic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). In this pro­ject, an AI-based inform­a­tion plat­form for effi­cient crisis man­age­ment is being developed. In the event of com­plex eco­nomic chal­lenges, the plat­form net­works, ana­lyses and eval­u­ates mac­roe­co­nomic, sec­tor-spe­cific and internal com­pany data. From the eval­u­ated facts, inter­de­pend­en­cies are derived and daily updated fore­casts are cre­ated to sup­port crisis man­age­ment.

Your tasks will focus on
The devel­op­ment of innov­at­ive and effi­cient solu­tions for a web plat­form that sup­ports

• the val­id­a­tion and integ­ra­tion of ter­min­o­lo­gies for map­ping eco­nomic data,
• tools for col­lab­or­at­ive cre­ation and work on ter­min­o­lo­gies,
• the effect­ive access and cur­a­tion of ter­min­o­lo­gies (includ­ing onto­logy and instance map­ping).

• Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter’s degree, uni­versity dip­loma or equi­val­ent) in a rel­ev­ant field of study such as com­puter sci­ence, math­em­at­ics, inform­a­tion sci­ence or in a related sub­ject area
• A very good com­mand of writ­ten and spoken Eng­lish
• Excel­lent know­ledge of mod­ern pro­gram­ming lan­guages, such as Java in par­tic­u­lar, and mod­ern soft­ware engin­eer­ing meth­ods; proven skills in soft­ware devel­op­ment in a team (Git­Lab)
• Famili­ar­ity with meth­ods and tech­no­lo­gies from the envir­on­ment of the Semantic Web and data man­age­ment

Desir­able

• Fron­tend devel­op­ment skills with mod­ern pro­gram­ming lan­guages (like REACT)
• Interest in mas­ter­ing and apply­ing formal meth­ods

to join the Data Sci­ence & Digital Lib­rar­ies Research Group (Prof. Dr. Sören Auer) and the Team Ter­min­o­logy Ser­vice at the earli­est pos­sible oppor­tun­ity.

The pos­i­tion is ini­tially lim­ited until 31st May 2024 with envi­sioned exten­sion. The reg­u­lar weekly work­ing time is 39.80 hours (full-time). The pos­i­tion is only suit­able for part-time work to a lim­ited extent. The remu­ner­a­tion is based on pay scale group 13 TV-L.
