Tasks
Assisting with the development and coordination of a larger grant proposal in the research area of Environmental Neuroscience. The proposed project will combine state of the art multimodal data collection and analyses approaches from real-world and lab-based Neurourbanism experiments in combination with remote sensing and local microclimate data.
The incumbent will support the PI with coordinating and leading meetings of collaborating partners, to structure and support collaborative efforts during the first phase of the proposal development. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting an more experiments collecting and analyzing multimodal physiological (EEG-DOT or EEG-NIRS-MRI) and additional sensor data in a stationary and/or mobile protocol, publishing the results in international outlets. The applicant has to teach 4 SWS.
You will have the unique opportunity to work with an internationally leading team of researchers from TU Berlin, Charité Berlin, and Max Planck Institute Berlin, together with international collaboration partners using state-of-the art mobile brain imaging modalities as well as established MRI approaches. We will offer excellent opportunities in using outstanding laboratory infrastructures and expertise in machine learning approaches applied to complex multimodal data. The TU Berlin and collaborating partners offer an excellent and stimulating environment for pursuing a career in cognitive neuroscience benefitting from exchanges with leading experts from other departments at the TU Berlin as well as the Humboldt Universität, Freie Universität, and the Charité Berlin.
The possibility of a doctorate is given.
Requirements
- successfully completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in computational neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, psychology or a related field
- very good knowledge in using at least one of the following physiological measurement (EEG/NIRS/DOT/MRI) as proven by previous publications
- excellent knowledge of statistics and very good programming skills in Python, MATLAB and/or R
- excellent oral and written English skills (C1 level); English is the working language in the project
Desirable:
- experience in conducting and analysing more than one of the listed brain imaging methods and previous experience in the field of Environmental Neuroscience/Neurourbanism
- knowledge of machine learning and multimodal data fusion approaches are desirable
- experience with mobile and stationary eye movement measurements is desirable
