Tasks

Research and teaching at the Institute of Mathematics especially in the field of applied algebra in the area of combinatorial, geometric and algorithmic group theory, theoretical computer science, combinatorics, and /ogic, including supervision of seminars and lectures, teaching of exercise classes (4 hours per week for a full-time position), co-supervision of Bachelor and MSc students/theses.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) and, at the time of recruitment, a doctorate in mathematics or theoretical computer science in the field of geometric, combinatorial or algorithmic group theory
  • Expertise in geometric or combinatorical group theory, strong interest in combinatorics, logic and theoretical computer science
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
