Your responsibility

Project work in the DFG-funded project "Complexes of oppositely charged microemulsions and polyelectrolytes (PEMECs)".
First steps are sythesising the required double-hydrophilic polyelectrolytes and characterising the required microemulsions. By mixing them one obtains the PEMECs, which will be studied with respect to phase behaviour and existing structures. For this, mainly scattering methods, optical microscopy and electric birefringence will be applied as characterisation methods.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in chemistry, physics or related subjects
  • Good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected
  • Knowledge in the field of formulating colloidal and polymeric systems is an advantage
  • Expertise in the field of polymer synthesis and in the investigation of colloidal systems by means of light, x-ray or neutron scattering, via optical microscopy or other suited methods is desirable
