Research assistant

Your responsibility
- Support with research tasks in the RIG project (i.e., research on data mining and machine learning methods for text and image analysis; research into clustering and recommender systems for the data).
- Literature review and outreach regarding other professional robotics associations.
- Publication and presentation of results in newsletters, at conferences, and at workshops.
The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in research colloquia, lecture series, and workshops. Travel once or twice per year to RIG partners in Germany or conferences in Germany to share and discuss research findings is expected.
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline with very good performance
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python
- Strong scientific visualization skills
- Strong experience in data mining and machine learning
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
- Willingness to help build a new scientific society on robotics desirable
- Experience with modern web technologies desirable
- Experience with robotic systems desirable
- Working knowledge of Linux desirable
- Excellent communication desirable
