Your responsibility

The majority of the tasks consist of research on neuronal population dynamics, spiking neural networks, working-memory models and mean-field theory within the DFG project "The Role of Long-Range Brain Connectivity in Human Language Processing (Connlingua)".
In addition, supervision of seminars and lectures (1 hour per week), among others: teaching of exercise classes, co-supervision of Bachelor and Master students/theses.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Masters, Diploma or equivalent) in Mathematics, Physics, Computational Neuroscience or related field of study
  • Excellent knowledge of nonlinear dynamics and stochastic processes and keen interest in theoretical neuroscience and mathematical modelling
  • Additional knowledge in Computational Neuroscience is desirable
  • Excellent analytical and programming skills as well as very good English language skills are required
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
