PhD Student (f/m/d) – Formation and transport of foams in the terrestrial water cycle.

The Institute of Fluid Dynamics is conducting basic and applied research in the fields of thermo-fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics in order to improve the sustainability, the energy efficiency and the safety of industrial processes.

The Department of Department Fluid Dynamics Resource Technology Processes is looking for a

Tasks

  • Collect water and foam samples from the Elbe catchment area to assess ecological status
  • Measurement of foam properties in the presence of surface-active microorganisms
  • Development of a transportable foam field-testing devices
  • Publication of the results in scientific journals
  • Participations at international conferences
  • Strengthening research cooperation between Helmholtz centers

Requirements

Completed university studies -(Master/Diploma) in the field of engineering, physics, chemistry or related disciplines

  • Enjoy experimental work in international and multidisciplinary teams
  • Communicative, structured and target oriented way of working
  • Knowledge of German or English
