PhD Student (f/m/d) for the Synthesis and Characterization of Radioconjugates for the Targeted Radionuclide Therapy with Alpha Emitters

At the Institute of Radiopharmaceutical Cancer Research scientists (f/m/d) from the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, pharmacy, immunology, medicine and IT develop innovative radiopharmaceuticals and novel tools for functional characterization, improved imaging and personalized treatment of tumors.

The Department of Medical Radiochemistry is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) for the Synthesis and Characterization of Radioconjugates for the Targeted Radionuclide Therapy with Alpha Emitters.

Tasks

  • Synthesis and preclinical characterization of novel ligands and conjugates for the complexation of alpha emitters (NMR, MS, HPLC)
  • Establishment of radiolabeling protocols using clinically relevant alpha emitters, including detailed stability studies
  • Initial in vitro characterization of radioligands and assistance with further preclinical in vitro and in vivo experiments
  • Analysis of experimental data and communication of results in work reports and internal presentations, at international conferences and through publications in scientific journals

Requirements

  • Completed university studies (Master) in the field of Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Pharmacy or related field
  • Practical experience in organic synthesis chemistry and peptide chemistry
  • Knowledge in structural analysis (NMR, UV, HPLC, ITC)
  • Willingness to work with radioactive substances
  • Practical experience in the field of (radio)pharmacy desirable
  • Basic knowledge and practical experience in cell biology desirable
  • Creative thinking, results-oriented work and a high degree of communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong communication skills in a professional context (presentation of results, cooperative discussions, writing of manuscripts, etc.)
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
