Your responsibility
Project Work in a DFG-Funded Research Project:
- Design of InP-based lasers with lateral current injection and low power consumption
- Development of InP technology processes for fabrication of these lasers
- Research and development of high-frequency directly modulated DFB lasers with lateral current injection
- Complete characterization of the lasers
- Dissemination and project reporting
As part of the project work, there is an opportunity to pursue a doctoral dissertation, which is explicitly encouraged. The work is carried out in close collaboration with Fraunhofer HHI, providing access to their InP process line as well as their measurement equipment.
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom, or equivalent) in Physics with a focus on Photonics or Semiconductor Technology
- Knowledge in the physics and application of semiconductor components such as lasers, SOAs and photodiodes
- Knowledge in semiconductor processing technology and monolithic integration
- Basic knowledge in waveguide- and laser simulation
- Good command of English
- Good knowledge of German required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills
