Research Assistant - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

Your responsibility
Research of AI methods in robotic perception: the candidate will explore novel data processing algorithms that combine model-based and machine learning techniques for robot perception (motion estimation, 3D reconstruction, SLAM, signal conversion, foundation models, etc.) with event cameras. The work combines the disciplines of robotics, computer vision and optimization. Contributing to teaching.
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science or related engineering field
- Excellent knowledge and experience in computer vision, machine learning, state estimation and event cameras. Programming experience with C++ and Python
- Knowledge of the deep learning framework PyTorch, the robot operating system ROS, and experience in event camera data acquisition
- Publications in high-impact conferences on event cameras (such as ECCV, ICCV, CVPR) are a plus
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to learn the respective missing language skills
