The pos­i­tion has a salary level up to TV-L 13 accord­ing to the qual­i­fic­a­tion. The pos­i­tion is offered as full time (39.8 hours per week) and is ini­tially lim­ited to 3 years, but is open to pro­long­a­tion.

Junior Researcher Bio­tech­no­logy (m/f/d)

Working field:

Within the EU pro­ject Bioin­dustry 4.0 innov­at­ive approaches for access­ing, mobil­iz­ing, and integ­rat­ing micro­bial data will be developed and estab­lished. Bac­Dive, Myco­bank and MIRRI-IS are the largest micro­bi­o­lo­gical data­bases world-wide and join forces to cre­ate a new doc­u­ment-based data­base for assem­bling data in a new com­mon format. The major aim is to provide access to inform­a­tion required for improv­ing bio­tech­no­lo­gical pro­cesses and thereby to cre­ate novel oppor­tun­it­ies for bioeconomy.

Requirements:

  • Mas­ter’s degree in bio­tech­no­logy, bio­logy, bio­chem­istry, or a sim­ilar qual­i­fic­a­tion
  • Exper­i­ence with micro­bial data, Omics data
  • Ideally exper­i­ence work­ing with Python and/or R
  • Ideally exper­i­ence with onto­lo­gies and sci­entific stand­ards
  • Flu­ent in Eng­lish / know­ledge of Ger­man is bene­fi­cial
  • You are com­mu­nic­at­ive, able to work in a team and will­ing to learn
  • You are inter­ested to work in a dynamic, inter­dis­cip­lin­ary team
