part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

Management of the technology and laboratory facilities of the Institute of High-Frequency Technologies and Photonics (HFT). The facility includes a class 1000 clean room and other laboratories, in which novel technologies for electro-optical components based on silicon and other platforms are developed. The cleanroom facilities include equipment for lithography, deposition, etching, diffusion, characterization and back-end processing. The characterization laboratories are equipped with high-speed optical and electrical setups up to sub-THz frequencies.

As the lab manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of the technical staff of the facility (currently four team members) and the associated administrative tasks. Those tasks include e.g. the coordination of the technical staff, the development and implementation of occupational safety requirements (including regular briefings of the technical staff and specification of responsibilities) as well as the financial and organizational handling of consumable procurement, maintenance and repairs.

The technology facility is also used by other institutes of TU Berlin for their respective research topics, e.g. by the Institute of Technology for Thin Film Devices and the Institute of Sensors and Actuators. As part of the position, you will be responsible for processing steps in other cleanroom facilities (e.g. in collaboration with the Department of Physics of TU Berlin) as well as other institutes. Appropriate work will be assigned independently and prioritized by the lab manager.
