The successful candidate should enjoy experimental work, be motivated to conduct high quality research and publish in high impact journals, and should take delight in the improvement and optimization of existing experimental setups.

Working field:

  • research and teaching in the field of experimental solid state physics and laser spectroscopy, in particular the optical, thermal, electronic and lattice dynamical properties of semiconductors and their heterostructures and nanostructures. The available experimental techniques include micro-Raman, TERS, micro-PL, PLE, TDTR, time-resolved and time-correlated spectroscopy, supplemented by data analysis and modeling
  • teaching and supervision of the course "Introduction to physics for engineers" and laboratory courses in solid state physics

Requirements:

  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a comparable subject; very good ratings desired
  • very good knowledge in one or more of the following areas: solid state physics, laser physics, optics, Raman spectroscopy
  • very good German and English language skills (the courses are usually taught in German)
  • a high degree of determination, commitment and the ability to work independently in academic research
  • experimental skill in handling complex laboratory setups
  • team-minded and socially committed attitude
Desirable are:
  • programming skills (Labview/Python); experience in writing scientific publications; interest in the control/automation of electrical devices (Arduino etc.); experience in teaching (e.g. tutoring)

How to apply:

Please send your application with the reference number and the appropriate documents (university degrees, certificates, publications etc., all combined in a single pdf file, max 5 MB) exclusively by email to Prof. Dr. Markus Wagner via wagner.office@physik.tu-berlin.de.

By submitting your application via email you consent to having your data electronically processed and saved.
