part-time employment may be possible, under the reserve that funds are granted

Working field:

The hospital building has the task of providing a health-promoting environment. However, unfavorable conditions can also contribute to patients' poorer and slower recovery and even put patients and staff at additional risk. Within the scope of the research project, the topics of wound and respiratory infections, as well as heat stress, will be addressed in detail. An interdisciplinary team of experts in hygiene, architecture and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning technology (HVAC) will investigate environmental conditions that are of particular relevance to both health and energy use, thus creating an area of conflict between health and energy use. The aim of the consortium is the cross-sectoral (structural, technical and organizational) evaluation of risk factors for airborne infection transmission and heat stress in hospitals and, among other things, the identification of energy-efficient HVAC concepts with simultaneous, demand-controlled temperature and humidity regulation.
The opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree is available.

Requirements:

Successfully completed university degree (diploma, master's degree or equivalent) in the field of building services engineering, energy and process engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energies or equivalent.
