At the Faculty of Mathematics, Institute of Geometry, the Chair of Nonlinear Analysis offers a position as
Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting October 1, 2024. The position is limited until September 30, 2027. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (usually habitation thesis). Balancing family and career is an important issue. The position is generally suitable for candidates seeking part-time employment. Please indicate your request in your application.

Working field:

You will conduct research on a topic in nonlinear analysis, in particular in partial differential equations, calculus of variations and its applications. You will support the chair in teaching the Bachelor's and Master's courses offered (teaching duties in accordance with the Sächsische Dienstaufgabenverordnung an Hochschulen - DAVOHS) as well as in administrative tasks.


very good university and PhD degree in mathematics; professional attitude to work at the Chair (esp. profound knowledge in partial differential equations, functional analysis, calculus of variations and measure theory); good written and spoken English; basic written and spoken German (sufficient for teaching).
