Participation in a research project on the electrochemical splitting of Water. The position also includes a commitment to supporting project coordination and project results presentation. The goal of the research is to obtain highly active and long-term stable bifunctional steel-based electrodes. The position is financed 100% by a BMBF-funded project dealing with the combination of storing renewable electricity (batterie) as well as the conversion of renewable energy to energy storage molecules like hydrogen (electrolysis).

• Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) and PhD thesis in the area of alkaline water splitting
• Research experience in the design and synthesis of HER and OER catalysts
• Knowledge in the design and solvothermal synthesis of electrocatalysts for the Hydrogen and Oxygen Evolution Reaction (HER and OER)
• Experience with electroplating and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALS) techniques, and advanced skills in catalyst characterization are needed
• Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Desirable:

• The position is suited for a self-driven individual who is capable of conducting demanding research projects independently
