Research Associate / Doctoral Candidate (m/f/d) in the field of Coastal Engineering

(EG 13 TV-L, full-time, temporary)
The position is to be filled on a fixed-term basis for a period of 30 month. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to pursue a doctorate and for further scientific qualification.

The Leichtweiß-Institute for Hydraulic Engineering is looking for a

Tasks

  • You will carry out research in the area of Coastal Engineering.
  • You will design innovative solutions for coastal protection and perform experimental investigations.
  • You will prepare and analysis data.
  • You will supervise project-related student theses and student research projects.
    • You will publish research findings and participate in national and international conferences.

Requirements

  • You have a degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related fields.
  • You have very good knowledge of the English language.
  • Good knowledge orally and in writing of German is beneficial
  • You have experience in data processing and programming (for example Python, MATLAB, etc.)
  • You are flexible, can perform under pressure and work well in a team.
  • You are aiming for a doctorate.
