Researcher (f/m/d)/ PostDoc (f/m/d) in Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) with focus on sample preparation and cosmogenic radionuclides

The Institute for Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research conducts basic and applied research for a wide range of topics, including the detection of the smallest traces of radionuclides for applications in geology, in nuclear astrophysics and in environmental science.
The Department of Accelerator Mass Spectrometry and Isotope Research is expanding its research portfolio with new AMS capabilities. It is looking for a
Tasks
- Sample preparation of Be-10, Al-26 or Cl-36 AMS samples
- Supervision of laboratories for cosmogenic radionuclides
- Dedicated research in geological applications
- Further development of new isotope separation methods for AMS applications
Requirements
- Completed PhD in chemistry, geology, physics or related areas
- Experience in sample preparation of cosmogenic radionuclides for accelerator mass spectrometry
- Proven knowledge in geological research areas
