Student Research Assistant (m/f/d) (Biology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences)

40 hours/month | Start: Immediately | Initial 3-month contract with extension option

Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung (HZI) GmbH

The Respiratory Infection Dynamics (DINF) research group at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) is looking for a motivated and reliable student research assistant to support our translational infection research. Our international team investigates host–microbe interactions in the lung, combining clinical and experimental approaches to better understand respiratory infections and develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Tasks

  • Performing qPCR experiments
  • Assisting with routine laboratory work
  • Careful documentation of experimental procedures and results
  • Supporting ongoing research projects as required

Requirements

  • Enrolled student in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Strong interest in laboratory research and infection biology
  • Careful, accurate, and reliable working style
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good English communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Motivated to learn and ask questions
  • Friendly, open-minded, and able to work well in an international team
  • Availability for two consecutive full days at the beginning for training
