The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) is a German-Polish research center for data-intensive digital systems research.
CASUS is looking for a
Tasks
- Design and train machine learning models to predict materials properties
- Develop and utilize automated computational workflows
- Analyze and interpret simulation data
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including experimental partners
- Present findings at scientific conferences and workshops
- Supervise and mentor junior members of the group
Requirements
- Completed university studies (PhD) in the field of Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
- Experience with Density Functional Theory, molecular dynamics, or Monte Carlo simulations
- Proficiency in machine learning techniques and data analysis
- Proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries
- Experience with Linux, Git, and collaborative software development tools
- Knowledge of web design or experience creating scientific websites is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment
- Excellent communication skills in English in a professional context
