The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) is a German-Polish research center for data-intensive digital systems research.

CASUS is looking for a

Tasks

  • Design and train machine learning models to predict materials properties
  • Develop and utilize automated computational workflows
  • Analyze and interpret simulation data
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including experimental partners
  • Present findings at scientific conferences and workshops
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the group

Requirements

  • Completed university studies (PhD) in the field of Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
  • Experience with Density Functional Theory, molecular dynamics, or Monte Carlo simulations
  • Proficiency in machine learning techniques and data analysis
  • Proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries
  • Experience with Linux, Git, and collaborative software development tools
  • Knowledge of web design or experience creating scientific websites is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English in a professional context
