  • independent research in the field of industrial economics with focus on economic issues of the digital age, particularly platform markets, competition policy, and the interaction between humans and machines, as well as methods of microeconomics/game theory/behavioral economics, including economic online and lab experiments
  • co-authoring in high-impact peer-reviewed academic journals
  • independent organization and implementation of teaching courses as well as supervision of Bachelor and Master theses
  • engagement in the „Research Associates Program“ of the „Berlin School of Economics“ is welcome and supported (https://berlinschoolofeconomics.de/)

Your profile

  • successfully completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in Economics or equivalent courses of study
  • completed above-average dissertation in the field of industrial economics
  • independent research output in theoretical and experimental industrial economics that has been published or accepted for publication in leading international academic journals
  • international network, demonstrated by academic work abroad and participation in international conferences and workshops
  • proven experience in the planning and execution of seminars, workshops, and academic conferences
  • relevant experience in collaborative research within a project environment and strong motivation to engage in such
  • excellent knowledge and proven experience in experimental methods (both laboratory and online experiments), replication standards, and ensuring replicability (version control, replication packages, etc.)
  • in-depth knowledge of: (1) experimental and survey programming language and software such as z-Tree, oTree, as well as the associated technical infrastructure for online experiments; (2) the independent setup, operation, and maintenance of the server environment
  • proficiency in (1) statistical software such as STATA, MATLAB, R, and/or Python; (2) SQL and experience in operating and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
  • experience in organizing and conducting teaching courses
  • The ability to teach in German and English is required.
  • excellent academic writing and communication skills desirable
  • high level of independence and commitment desirable
