Research Assistant

Your responsibility
The research topic lies within the interdisciplinary field of biotechnologically produced, fungal-based materials, which are to be optimised in terms of their material properties. The research is embedded in the MY-CO BUILD Collaborative Research Centre (CRC 1743). The candidate should have a background in materials science and specialize in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials. He/she will be responsible for all experiments planned in the relevant work packages, including experimental and theoretical investigations, data curation, visualization, and writing publications. He/she will be responsible for communication and sample exchange with the partners in the consortium will support the supervision of students in the context of the project..
Your profile
- A successfully completed university degree (master's, diploma, or equivalent) in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, nanomaterials, or a related field
- Proven practical experience with chemical synthesis methods based on precursors
- Proven practical experience in the structural and spectroscopic characterization of the physicochemical and surface properties of materials
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire any missing language skills
- Successfully completed university courses in experimental inorganic and physical chemistry or experimental material synthesis and characterization (is desired)
- Good knowledge of the properties, synthesis, and characterization of inorganic non-metallic materials, particularly oxides (is desired)
- Good knowledge of functionalization methods for solid materials, such as coatings, immobilization, and related techniques (is desired)
- Good organizational skills, reliability, and the ability and willingness to work independently (is desired)
- Willingness to collaborate and work in a team (is desired)
