Research Assistant

Your responsibility
- Conducting research as part of a project aimed at determining sound power and directional characteristics in non-ideal acoustic environments
- Applying and further developing simulation and optimization methods for aeroacoustic time-domain techniques
- Implementing scientific program code to high quality standards
- Authoring scientific publications and presenting results at professional conferences
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in an engineering field with a clear focus on computational aeroacoustics or computational fluid dynamics
- Very good knowledge of numerical mathematics, fluid mechanics, aeroacoustics, and model reduction
- Experience with time-domain methods and finite difference methods
- Programming experience in Fortran, including MPI/OpenMP
- Good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected
- Experience with microphone measurements and/or their evaluation desirable
- Experience with adjoint methods for sensitivity analysis and optimization desirable
