The Control Engineering department is looking for a new employee for an exciting research project in the field of ‘Multi-agent systems for formation and coupling control of composite aircraft’.
The project aims to investigate the decentralised control of composite aircraft in close cooperation with partners at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Wildau. The first step will be to model the system, including aerodynamic forces, as a multi-agent system to enable subsequent analysis of the system behaviour. Based on this, both centralised and decentralised control approaches for formation flight and coupling manoeuvres will then be developed.

The following specific tasks are to be carried out:

• Modelling of the dynamic system as a multi-agent system
• Development of scalable, decentralised control approaches for formation flight
• Development of scalable, decentralised control approaches for the coupling process
• Testing and validation of the control approaches in high-fidelity simulations
• Documentation and publication of the results in specialist journals and at conferences

The Control Engineering department works both methodologically and on applications in various fields, such as process engineering, electrical engineering, networked systems, Industry 4.0 and medical technology. It therefore welcomes applicants from a wide range of fields and disciplines. For the advertised position, we are looking for employees with the following qualifications and interests:

• Successfully completed academic degree (diploma, master's or equivalent) in electrical engineering, information technology in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar.
• Good knowledge of control engineering
• Good German and/or English skills required; willingness to acquire any missing language skills
• Independent, well-organised working style and a solution-oriented, hands-on mentality are desirable
• Ideally, experience in the field of aerodynamics or flight control
