Your responsibility

  • Conducting and evaluating luminance and illuminance measurements
  • Developing algorithms for the automatic placement of measurement fields
  • Statistical analysis of light trespass and physiological parameters
  • Calibration and use of defined light sources for reflection determination
  • Conducting field measurement campaigns in urban areas
  • Testing and validating the measurement system (test drives, follow-up measurements)
  • Ensuring standard-compliant data collection (DIN 13201)
  • Filtering lighting systems that could potentially disturb sleep
  • Supporting randomised crossover studies in the laboratory
  • Setting defined lighting scenarios in the experiment
  • Analysing photometric characteristics
  • Coordination with project partners (sleep laboratory, authorities)

Your profile

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in electrical engineering or a comparable field of study with a specialisation in electrical engineering/lighting technology
  • Very good knowledge of lighting technology
  • Good knowledge of electrical engineering is an advantage
  • Good German and/or English skills required; willingness to acquire any missing language skills
  • Experience in using measurement technology
  • Knowledge of Python, Dialux and Matlab
  • Understanding of DIN 13201 standards
  • Experience with field measurement campaigns and statistical data analysis
