At the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, the Chair of Fundamentals of Electronics offers a project position as
Research Associate (m/f/x)
within the framework of the BMBF-funded project
“Memristor Cellular Nonlinear Networks for Epilepsy Seizure Prediction (MINDSET)”
starting at the earliest possible date. The position is limited until June 30, 2028. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).

Tasks

— review of current literature on epilepsy early detection using neural networks
— scientific development and theoretical analysis of Cellular Nonlinear Networks (CellNN)
— evaluation of CellNN performance for different resolutions
— collaboration in integrating software solutions into the hardware platforms of project partners
— publication and presentation of research results

Requirements

— university degree with excellent academic results in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
— ability to work independently and conceptually, as well as strong teamwork skills and interest in interdisciplinary, application-oriented research
— very good written and spoken English skills
— basic knowledge in neural networks and machine learning is advantageous
