Your responsibility

  • assistance in teaching and research of the chair
  • working on scientific projects in close cooperation with industrial companies and scientific partners
  • in-depth: finishing processes that can be used to optimize the surface quality of additively manufactured components and their numerical simulation
  • independent planning, implementation and evaluation of the research content
  • presentation of research results to industry representatives and scientists (also at international conferences and trade fairs)

Your profile

  • successfully completed scientific university studies (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in the field of energy and process engineering or related engineering sciences
  • in-depth knowledge of edge computing, manufacturing process automation, data analysis, and data science
  • extensive experience in post-processing of additive-manufactured components using processes with geometrically undefined cutting edges
  • in-depth simulation knowledge in the application of finishing processes
  • experience in scientific work in the field of machining research
  • willingness to travel on business (also to non-European countries)
  • the ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
  • experience in the field of manufacturing technology, machine tools, and industrial robots desirable
  • experience in guiding students is a plus
  • craftsmanship and enjoyment of experimental work desirable
  • independent, careful and reliable work ethic is desired
  • willingness to work scientifically in a dedicated team desirable
  • willingness to work in laboratories desirable
