Your responsibility

Conducting animal experiments. The aim is to establish orthotopic pancreatic tumours in mice. The job holder will treat the animals with oncolytic viruses or a combination therapy consisting of oncolytic viruses, FAK inhibitors and checkpoint inhibitors. The success of the therapy will be verified in vivo using bioluminescence measurement. Furthermore, the position holder will produce the oncolytic viruses and verify their functionality in vitro. He/she will examine samples taken from the animals using molecular biological (PCR, etc.) and virological techniques (plaque assays, etc.). He/she is responsible for planning, conducting and evaluating animal experiments, summarising the data obtained, and writing scientific manuscripts and conference papers. In addition, he/she is responsible for communicating with authorities and drafting amendment applications for animal experiments.

Your profile

  • successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) in biotechnology, biology or biochemistry
  • several years of solid experience in conducting animal experiments
  • experience working with in vivo bioluminescence measurements
  • solid knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology, virology (several years of experience)
  • relevant practical experience in working with viruses (S2 organisms)
  • relevant experience in genetic engineering work
  • German language proficiency at least at the C1 level (certificate)
  • willingness to work on weekends
  • generation of orthotopic pancreatic tumours in mice (desirable)
  • knowledge of preparing animal testing applications and amendment requests for animal testing (desirable)
  • knowledge of preparing genetic engineering applications (desirable)
