2 positions - Research Assistant

under the reserve that funds are granted; part-time employment may be possible

Technische Universität Berlin

Your responsibility

Research in a project with the goal of automatically modernising existing binary programs (fix security vulnerabilities, port to new processor architectures, systematically test that the new program can replace all of the functionality of the original one). This is a “computer systems” project at the intersection of compiler construction, software engineering, and computer security. Besides theoretical work, an explicit goal of the project is to implement a prototype system and to evaluate it. The opportunity to pursue a doctorate is available.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed graduate degree (Master, Diplom, or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field
  • Passion for cutting-edge research, creativity, and ability to work in a team desirable
  • Advanced knowledge in compilers (LLVM), virtual machines, operating systems, software testing, fuzzing, and/or computer security desirable
  • Language skills in German and/or English are required; willingness to acquire all missing language skills
