Your responsibility

Collaboration in the real-world laboratory B(e)Ware, funded by the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe. Testing and communicating planning and construction processes with the aim of reintegrating local secondary materials as load-bearing structures into the construction sector.

The candidate will contribute to the development and advancement of technical and regulatory solutions for the reuse of secondary materials, as well as suitable value chains and logistics processes. They will collaborate on the evaluation and documentation of results generated to date within the research project, with a particular focus on the use of secondary materials (with an emphasis on timber) in the pilot projects. They will be responsible for establishing and delivering a continuing professional development programme for planners, companies and tradespeople on the topics of the real-world laboratory. They will contribute to the writing of scientific publications.

Active on-site participation at the location of the real-world laboratory in Berlin is explicitly encouraged.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed academic degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Architecture, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in circular design within the context of a planning or design practice
  • Initial experience with the use of secondary materials in the construction sector, particularly in the area of timber and timber products
  • Experience in scientific documentation and evaluation, as well as willingness to contribute to the preparation of publications desirable
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex content in a way that is appropriate for different target audiences desirable
  • Independent, structured working style combined with the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment desirable
  • Excellent written and spoken German skills (proof required)
